The Opportunity
The Regulation Directorate sits within the Transport Policy and Regulation Division and is responsible for driving the Government’s regulation and policy initiatives and ensuring appropriate compliance, behaviour and safe access across our transport networks.
The Project Officer, Driver Training Industry Reform, reports directly to the Coordinator Projects – Driver Training Reform but works with autonomy and under broad direction.
The role is accountable for researching, procuring and implementing technological solutions required under the Driver Trainer Industry Reform legislative amendments, specifically in vehicle cameras and digital solutions. The successful candidate will liaise with, negotiate and work collaboratively with a range of customers and stakeholders (internal and external) of the Division/Department including executive and senior management and private industry representatives.
The Project Officer, Driver Training Industry Reform, will also prepare and deliver easy to understand written and verbal briefings outlining technological solutions to industry representatives and executive.

Qualifications/Experience
Proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects to the required standards and timelines.
Special Conditions
Prior to employment with the Department, the successful candidate will be required to provide:
- A National Police Check (NPC) which is required to be renewed every three years.
- A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to 2 years.
Remuneration
ASO6 - $98,478 to $104,165 pa + superannuation.
