Primary objective
Working with internal and external stakeholders across the NT to support improved access to the NT Concession Scheme and NT
Seniors Recognition Scheme. The Membership Admissions Officer is primarily responsible for processing membership applications
and ensuring the membership database is maintained.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Ensure the timely processing of membership applications and appeals, assess the eligibility of new applicants and existing
members of the Schemes.
2. Coordinate routine compliance checks and investigate eligibility issues to maintain the membership database and membership
records in line with Northern Territory Government information management and privacy principles.
3. Provide information and advice on the Schemes policies and processes to members and a range of internal and external
stakeholders and assist with the resolution of complex queries and complaints.
4. Support the development, implementation, maintenance and review of policy documents, procedures, training and audit
manuals to ensure appropriate levels of compliance for the schemes.
5. Assist in the preparation of a range of written advice, including drafting responses for Ministerials, member enquiries, briefings
and general correspondence.
6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high-quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated customer and client service and complaints resolution skills, including the ability to communicate and interact
effectively with clients who are aged, have a disability or from diverse cultural backgrounds.
2. High-level organisational skills with the proven ability to establish priorities, organise workflow, meet timelines and manage
multiple demands with limited supervision while maintaining attention to detail and using initiative.
3. High level of experience in data entry with advanced keyboard skills and well-developed computer skills, particularly Microsoft
Word, Microsoft Excel and records management systems.
4. Ability to understand and apply policy and contribute to the improvement of office procedures and systems.
5. Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
at all levels.
6. Demonstrated initiative and enthusiastic attitude, with potential to develop current skills and knowledge to meet the changing
needs of the business unit.
Desirable
1. An understanding of the NT Concession Scheme and NT Seniors Recognition Scheme.
2. Training in customer service or complaints resolution.
