As a Room Leader you’ll work with a team of early childhood professionals to deliver SDN’s innovative, high quality and inclusive program for children, while building strong, meaningful relationships with children and families, and delivering the support of the SDN village to their lives.
About you
You will be a Diploma-qualified educator, have an exceptional understanding of inclusive early childhood practice and a willingness to share your knowledge and to grow and learn.
About the team
SDN Erskineville is a local oasis with a wonderful internal garden, close to public transport with free on street parking locally. As an important member of our team, you will have the opportunity to bring your own unique point of view, energy and enthusiasm as you collaborate with children, families and team.
About the role
In this role you will draw upon your leadership, coaching and mentoring skills to support smooth service delivery in your room. This includes delivery of the room’s educational program while supporting staff development through individual and team assessment. You will support the Centre Director with the general direction of the service and supervision of staff, students and volunteers within the room you are leading.
You will need
- Demonstrated experience in leading a room in an early childhood education and care setting
- A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the Early Years Learning Framework
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of the National Quality Standards
- Working with Children Check and current Senior First Aid qualification
- Sound understanding of the development of children, their health, hygiene and nutritional needs
