We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented entry-level Financial Analyst/Accountant to join our Finance and Advice team in Sydney.

This role supports month-end processes, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting in Consumer Finance within Insurance Australia’s CFO division, making it a great opportunity for recent graduates or those with a foundational understanding of finance and accounting principles.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver end of month finance processes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Proactively support with investigation and timely resolutions of data variances and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and process accounting journals.
  • Supporting delivery of key management reporting activities including monthly Management and Board reporting, Full Year and Half Year external reporting to the market.
  • Support with maintenance and update of financial systems and databases.
  • Analytical support with the forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver performance management insights.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to develop an in-depth understanding of business drivers and trends that support management reporting.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, Finance, or similar (Mandatory)
  • Post-graduate qualifications or pursuing (CA, CPA, CFA, or similar) (Desired)
  • Up to 2 years' experience in accounting/finance roles
  • Experience or strong interest in financial services
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong analytical skills, including data analysis and business reporting
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines with high accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MS products, finance systems (e.g., Oracle, TM1/Cognos, Power BI)
  • Knowledge of the Suncorp Group's business, products, and markets
  • Familiarity with General Insurance P&L / IFRS17
