Position: Storeperson (Casual)
Location: The Grand National Hotel, Paddington
Reports To: Operations Manager / Head Chef

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Storeperson to join our team on a casual basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the receiving, storing, and maintenance of goods, as well as ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the storage areas. This role will require attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently within a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

Goods Receipt & Storage:

  • Receive deliveries and ensure all goods are accounted for and meet quality standards.
  • Properly store all goods, ensuring safe, clean, and efficient storage areas.
  • Organize stock according to inventory systems and ensure it is easily accessible for kitchen and bar staff.
  • Check goods for any damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the relevant manager.

Cleaning & Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean and organized storeroom and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure all storage areas are compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in regular stock rotations (FIFO – First In, First Out) to reduce waste and maintain freshness.

Inventory Management Support:

  • Assist with inventory counts and stock-taking as required.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate any low stock items to the management team.
  • Assist in ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping for all stock movements.

General Duties:

  • Assist with cleaning duties around the hotel premises as needed.
  • Help with any additional tasks as required by the management team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Prior experience in a storeperson or stock control role, preferably in hospitality or food & beverage.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management and stock control systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry goods up to 20kg
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A high standard of personal hygiene and presentation.

Work Schedule:

  • Casual position, 30 hours per week.
  • Flexibility with hours, including weekends, and public holidays as required.
