Fitzroy Golf Club is a vibrant and busy place that is seeing ongoing growth in members and visitors. The club is welcoming and diverse and is an important part of the community. Due to the club becoming ever-more busy, we are seeking someone to work with the club manager to ensure all aspects of club operations run smoothly, including bar, golf & administration activities.
This role is part time, between 20-25 hours per week. Hours will vary week to week, as will tasks. The role is suitable for a person who is a good communicator, enjoys being involved in a variety of mahi, is flexible, and can work well as part of a team.
Key work accountabilities :
- Support the Club Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations at the golf club and in doing so provide excellent customer service to club members, their guests, and visitors.
- Assist in all aspects of the bar operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, managing the bar roster, and ensuring compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act.
- Run the bar, sharing hours with other bar staff. Generally work Wednesday afternoons, potentially Sunday or other hours the bar is open with some flexibility.
- Ensure clubrooms are kept clean, tidy, and presentable.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, record-keeping, book-keeping, and member communications.
- Assist in planning and executing club events and tournaments, including coordinating with vendors and staff to ensure successful event operations.
- Provide backup support to the Club Manager for various administrative duties.
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have :
An outgoing personality and be honest & reliable. Customer service / public facing experience. Competency with Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Excel. Experience with book-keeping work and XERO. Experience with bar work, and preferably a bar manager's licence. Familiarity with the game of golf.We offer a competitive hourly rate and a fun, friendly club environment to be part of.
