About the role

Apply competent-level exercise physiology knowledge and skills to develop care plans to address and improve physical health of the consumers of Somerset Villas Community Care Unit (SVCUU), Metro North Mental Health – Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (MNMH-RBWH). Undertake comprehensive individual assessments and develop individualised exercise physiology plans and targeted interventions to promote, maintain and improve health, functional ability, and quality of life. Develop and deliver group-based therapy in line with the needs and abilities determined after individual assessments.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Apply competent-level exercise physiology clinical services to consumers with a severe mental illness in a rehabilitation unit, adapting routine clinical practice using valid and reliable evidence while working flexibly across the unit, in response to changing clinical demand and consumer stage of behaviour change.
  • Actively contribute to discharge planning led by other allied health professions including NDIS report writing to advocate for a reasonable and necessary health and wellbeing budget.
  • Utilise competent-level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively as part the multidisciplinary team to positively influence consumer engagement and drive recovery focused rehabilitation.
