About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity as a MYH Youth Health Worker - Early Intervention Impacts of Violence on Children Worker. The role works with young people particularly young pregnant and parenting people who are impacted by violence, and who are dis-advantaged. The role focuses on their overall health and well-being and involves therapeutic counselling, group work, health education, mental health support and support to access physical health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engagement of young pregnant and or parenting people, and young people who are impacted by violence, and who are dis-advantaged and/or vulnerable to access and navigate through specialised primary health care services.
- Provide 1:1 and group therapeutic interventions to young people with a focus on the impacts of violence on children
- Development and delivery of quality outcomes for clients through the provision of youth health care services within a therapeutic counselling approach, aligned to the Metropolitan Youth Health Model of Care.
- Improved service access and outcomes for young people and young pregnant and parenting people through working in partnership with young people and their families and in collaboration with other health professionals and government and community agencies.
- Deliver projects or programs in accordance with grant funding agreements
- Undertake data collection, analysis, evaluation and reporting
