A wonderful opportunity to join the Department of Housing and Public Works' Employee Relations team within People and Culture. As Manager, Employee Relations, you will lead a team of Employee Relations practitioners in the provision of strategic and operational industrial, and employee relations services and advice to departmental leaders and the business to resolve complex issues.Please note that due to the recent Machinery of Government change, this department is now the Department of Housing and Public Works.
The Manager, Employee Relations works collaboratively in the delivery of effective industrial and employee relations services and advice for an industrially and demographically diverse workforce in the Department.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead and manage a team in the delivery of effective industrial and employee relations strategy across the department.
- Coach, guide and mentor the team's employee relations practitioners.
- Engage in high level negotiations with employee organisations in relation to specific industrial and employee relations matters.
- Work in partnership with People and Culture Business Partners to provide expert level advice and coaching to managers and supervisors on a diverse range of contemporary industrial and employee relations matters.
- Lead and manage the negotiation of enterprise bargaining agreements and coordinate related activities, including liaising with central agencies and consulting with staff.
- Represent the department and perform advocacy in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
- Lead research, preparing high level correspondence including submissions, briefing notes, ministerial responses and information papers on complex industrial and employee relations matters affecting the department's workforce.
