About North East Link
The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.
The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.
The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.
About the Opportunity
Seize the opportunity to leave your mark on a groundbreaking project. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer with a strong background in civil structures to join our dynamic Southern Surface Works Team on the North East Link Project.
Your primary responsibilities will include the leading engineering the team and work collaboratively with wider team to successfully deliver structures scope of works.
In order to have a positive impact on the project, you will use your strong Structures experience to manage and deliver a range of structures comprising bridge structures, retaining walls, flood walls and various other structural elements.
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be accountable for:
- Leading the team and delivery of discrete Scope of work, while coordinating with the wider project team
- Development and implementation of construction strategies to deliver works safely, on time and achieve quality standards
- Mid to long term planning, delivery, monitoring and reporting
- Cost management including developing and reporting of monthly forecasts
- Subcontract management
- Supporting and fulfilling all required Safety, Environmental, and other Regulatory obligations
- Leading, managing, and supporting the team
Minimum requirements for these roles are:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven experience (8-10 years +) in successfully delivery of large structures work packages
- Proven experience in managing engineering team on large-scale Australian civil construction projects
- Ability to lead the team to manage and delivery works to achieve, Safety, Quality, program, budgets, systems compliance and stakeholder management outcomes
- Self-motivation and drive to achieve value-for-money results
