The United Workers Union is seeking a talented and experienced in-house commercial cleaner on a permanent part-time basis, for 10 hours per week based in our Tasmanian Offices. As a Union we stand for good secure jobs.This role will be responsible for conducting our in-house commercial cleaning across our owned building based in Hobart, Tasmania to ensure that a cleaning standard is applied across all our buildings.As a union with a proudly diverse membership, we are committed to equity and inclusion; and continuing to build a union that is truly representative of the workers we cover. We encourage applications from people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ people and women.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform cleaning duties according to established standards in offices.Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors.Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and windowsills.Dispose of waste in a proper manner and replace liners.Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.Notify management of any maintenance or repair needs.Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times.Other ad hoc duties as requested.KEY SELECTION CRITERIAPrior experience in commercial cleaning preferred but not required.Ability to work independently and efficiently.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job.Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.Willingness to work early mornings or afternoon / evenings, Monday to Friday.To perform this job, you will also be required to have or obtain and maintain : Current Police Check.Immunisation against COVID-19 or have a medical exemption.REMUNERATIONAn attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant, which will include : Salary commensurate with demonstrated skills and experience.16% superannuation.4 weeks annual leave plus 25% leave loading.HOW TO APPLYPlease submit your resume, together with a cover letter addressing the selection criteria to Catherine Coghlan, Deputy Director (People, Culture and Change) through the UWU Carers Portal.CLOSING DATECompleted applications must be received by 4pm (AEST) Friday 14 February 2025.#J-18808-Ljbffr
