Policy OfficerThe Policy Officer in the Policy, Advocacy, Leadership and Strategy (PALS) at the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council (QAIHC) will provide high-level administrative support, coordinate governance processes, secretariat support, and general team organisation.

About QAIHC:
QAIHC a non-partisan health and disability peak organisation, representing Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). We support our Members to deliver comprehensive and culturally appropriate, world class primary health care services to their communities.
About You:
- Contribute towards ad hoc administrative and secretariat functions across the PALS division by providing policy, executive support including producing high-quality documents.
- Coordinate and assist the PALS General Manger and policy team with business support tasks, organising travel with the travel team.
- Manage invitations and requests received through various shared mailboxes.
- Manage administrative tasks for the policy team including maintaining registers, program schedules, action plans, internal meeting secretariat support and inbox management.
- Assist to maintain effective records management, correspondence, document tracking.
- Experience preparing board packs and high-level administrative documentation.
- Familiarity with governance processes and company secretariat functions.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in event coordination and media monitoring is a plus.
- Experience working in Primary Health Networks (PHNs), Government Health Departments, Aged Care or Community-Controlled Organisations.
- A demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and working effectively in Indigenous community settings.
- Board experience or a background in coordinating multi-location teams and activities.
- Salary Range: ($93,636 – $98,857) + superannuation and generous salary packaging options. This is based upon experience and qualifications.
