We are seeking a passionate and skilled Full-Time Chef to join Son of a Gun Diner . The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in professional cooking, strong menu development skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning, directing, and overseeing food preparation, cooking, and presentation in the kitchen.
- Managing stock levels and ensuring all ingredients are fresh and available.
- Working closely with kitchen staff to coordinate provisioning and purchasing of supplies.
- Developing and refining menus that align with customer preferences and seasonal trends.
- Cooking and seasoning dishes following the business' recipes and industry standards.
- Ensuring food quality, portion control, and attractive presentation.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising kitchen staff, including demonstrating advanced cooking techniques.
- Assisting and supporting the Head Chef in daily operations and special projects.
- Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery.
- Minimum 1 year full-time relevant experience in a professional kitchen.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and industry trends.
- Familiarity with workplace safety and sanitation regulations.
Salary:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 - $75,000 , plus superannuation , based on a 38-hour work week .
