You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults, dismantling and reassembling engine components, and conducting scheduled maintenance such as oil changes and engine tune-ups. Additionally, you will use diagnostic tools, issue roadworthiness certificates, and handle vehicle breakdown service calls. A relevant trade qualification in automotive mechanics and experience with both mechanical and electrical systems are essential. - Diagnose and identify mechanical and electrical faults in engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to enhance vehicle performance and ensure compliance with emissions regulations.
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, steering mechanisms, and other key components for inspection and necessary repairs.
- Repair and replace worn or defective parts, ensuring proper reassembly in accordance with service manuals.
- Reassemble engines and mechanical components after repairs, ensuring optimal functionality and alignment.
- Perform testing and adjustments on mechanical parts post-repair to verify performance and efficiency.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and computer-assisted testing to assess and troubleshoot vehicle issues.
- Inspect vehicles for roadworthiness, issuing certification or recommending necessary repairs.
- Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls, providing on-site repair solutions when required.
- Relevant trade qualification and experience in automotive mechanics
- Expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Proficiency in dismantling and reassembling engine assemblies, transmissions, and other components
- Skilled in conducting scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups
- Ability to ensure compliance with pollution regulations and industry standards
- Experience in using diagnostic tools and computer-assisted testing for fault detection
- Knowledge of roadworthiness standards with the ability to assess and certify vehicles
- Capability to respond to vehicle breakdown service calls and perform on-site repairs
