About the opportunity

As the C-130J Tactical Fleet Planner, you will work closely with a team of technical experts focused on success.

This role resides within the embedded Enterprise Planning and Integration Cell (EPIC) Team. The position provides specialist fleet planning input into EPIC activities and provides a valuable conduit between C-130J operations and the technical and engineering management of the platform.

Reporting to the Team Lead Enterprise Stewardship and Planning, this role will be focussed on fleet planning activities to enhance integration across C-130J stakeholder organisations to assure sustainable effort across the C-130J Enterprise. The aim of EPIC is to synchronise C-130J operational planning and force generation requirements with C-130J fleet planning, in order to maximise C-130J availability when operationally required and to de-conflict any forecasted Enterprise pinch points. This role will also be responsible for the development and production of the induction Statement of Work document for aircraft prior to induction for Deeper Maintenance.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Forecast and dissemination of mission requirements among relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and lead stakeholder meetings with regards to urgent fleet planning or operational matters.
  • Compare and align AMG SOFG plans with C-130J Fleet plan and identify risk periods.
  • Aid in identifying Enterprise efficiency opportunities.
  • Provide tasking priorities for individual aircraft based off mission requirements, AFHR and EFH status.
  • Perform C-130J Fleet Planning activities, including maintenance of, and updates to, the C-130J Fleet Plan ensuring Fleet Plan changes are properly documented and stakeholders informed.
  • In close consultation with key stakeholders, develop the Statement of Work for DM (including R20, R30 and R80 as well as standalone induction for such things as capability Modifications) servicings and ensure that key ILS planning KPIs are met.
  • Act as the conduit between Airbus Maintenance and Squadron Operations for the planning of maintenance check/test flights.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need to be someone who has the ability to absorb multiple inputs and stakeholder objectives and constraints, and take them into consideration in order to inform decisions, that are in the best interests of the capability manager and best for fleet, working to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment.

The knowledge and experience best suited to this role:

  • Aircraft Technical Trade Qualification and/or equivalent with technical experience in aircraft maintenance engineering (Part 145 or equivalent) or CAM (Part M or equivalent), or Technical Support services in the aviation industry, with multi-engine, fixed-wing aircraft types.
  • Superior knowledge and understanding of interdependencies between maintenance (including maintenance and fleet planning) and other airworthiness management and support activities such as design engineering, technical services and integrated logistics support.
  • Understanding of maintenance and engineering cost drivers and how to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Superior knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g., DASR, CASA, EASA etc.), standards and internal best practices.
