Sydney By Kayak is an award winning, family owned and operated, Ecotourism Australia Certified kayak tour business. Since 2013 we have offered exclusive, small group kayak tours for locals, visitors and corporate organisations, on beautiful Sydney Harbour. Our 5-star, personalised tours attract people from all over the world who want to experience Sydney from the water. Whether it’s a Sunrise Kayak and Coffee, or giving back to the environment on our Eco Tours, we help people make memories that will last a lifetime. Our team are passionate and love what we do. We are a flexible and friendly team, who genuinely look after our staff.
We are also opening a brand new sustainability workshop and retail space, complete with an office for our admin and social media team :)
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a similar role is a must. Proven outcomes with examples of work being provided.
- You must be passionate and knowledgeable about conservation and share our company values.
- Past experience in Tourism would be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Collection: Regularly join us on the water on a variety of kayak tours to immerse yourself in everything “Sydney By Kayak” and collect amazing content. Capture the magic of our Sunrise Kayak and Coffee tours, Clean-up paddles and other team activities.
- Collaborate: Contact other local businesses, building connections and relationships, offering collaborations and competitions.
- Create Posts, Reels and stories: Film, edit and create daily, high-quality, engaging posts, stories and reels that resonate with our audience.
- Social Media Strategy: Stay updated on the latest social media trends, algorithms, and trending sounds. Your content should reflect the latest in social media strategies to maximise engagement.
- Additional Marketing: Help create professional marketing videos and content of our Eco-projects, kayak tours and amazing team, showcasing our premium, bucket-list, ecotourism business.
- Engagement: Reply to comments, DM's and general social networking on all platforms.
- Face-to-face Meeting: Meet with the SBK admin team once a week to discuss and implement competitions, collaborations and general marketing campaigns.
Requirements: - Experience in social media content creation, including Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
- Ability to use microphones, editing software and other content creation tools effectively.
- An active, outdoorsy and confident person who would enjoy kayaking with the team.
- Must be reliable and available for early mornings on the water. Some evening work may be needed in the future as we grow, opening our workshop and social networking space.
- Must be a Sydney local, able to easily travel to Lavender Bay. A desk and base for editing will also be available in our new shop/office.
- This is a full-time role, so you must be available for full time hours, including some weekends, early mornings, and some evenings etc.
- You must have experience with transitions, clever editing and professional videography. We are not just looking for influencer reels. We are looking for professional content to showcase our premium brand.
- We’d also really like you to be fun. We have an incredible team, who have a really good time at work, and we’d love for you to join us and showcase our good side
