The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Finance Officer to cover 12-month maternity leave contract. The Finance Officer role, will be primarily responsible for effectively managing the business' day-to-day accounts Payable functions and supporting the Finance Team with month-end transactional processing, ensuring smooth financial operations. Working closely with the assistant accountant and reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager you will also provide assistance to the extended Finance Team as needed and develop positive working relationships with other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- On time delivery of Supplier invoicing as per guidelines.
- Debtors Management and Analysis.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure invoicing queries/disputes are resolved
- Direct entry/EFT processing
- Bank Reconciliations
- Purchase Orders Management
- Processing of creditors invoices
- Payment runs
- Credit card reconciliations
- Intercompany transactions
- Perform client maintenance in finance system to ensure accuracy of records
- Actively Assist in the annual Audit
- BAS/PAYG submission
- Ad Hoc duties
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Intermediate to Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of Oracle (or other similar accounting software)
- Knowledge of various legislative requirements including BAS PAYG tax, Superannuation, workers comp.
- Ability to assist and support others as required and work as a team member
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability and confidence to work autonomously
- Attention to detail, ability to work in small team, ability to engage with customers and suppliers
- Ability to operate with tight deadlines
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- Ability to work under limited supervision and autonomously to achieve outcomes
- Ability to show empathy and skill at de-escalation of issues and understand when to escalate
- Keen to grow and contribute to a high-performing and fun team and organisational culture.
