Period of Appointment

Appointment to the role is on a Permanent Full-time basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight).

Duties
  • Provide management support to the Chief Forest Practices Officer in developing, implementing, reporting and reviewing the business objectives of the FPA including autonomous budgetary and financial reporting.
  • Provide management and leadership support in the development and implementation of effective and appropriate management systems for the FPA’s human resources, budget, information technology and physical assets in line with Whole of Government and departmental strategies, standards and methodologies.
  • Manage and coordinate the Administration Program to ensure the required objectives are met. Investigative, research, and analytical skills and experience, together with the ability to apply such knowledge and skills to policy and procedure development.
  • Undertake research and analysis of the administration of the Tasmanian Forest Practices System for the development of strategic advice to the Chief Forest Practices Officer and key stakeholders.
  • Represent the FPA in meetings and forums relevant to the administrative and business systems of the FPA. Liaise and negotiate at the highest of levels within the Agency on the reporting of project progress and outcomes to senior management and Whole of Government as required.
  • Ensure administrative and executive support is provided to the FPA Board and the Forest Practices Advisory Council.
  • Perform any other assigned duties at the classification level that are within the employee’s competence and training.
  • Provide effective project management, inclusive of planning, coordinating and deployment of key projects for the Forest Practices Authority.
Desirable Requirements
  • A current drivers license
  • A degree in accounting, finance or a business-related field,
  • Membership to CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
