About the Role

At Discovery Resorts - Wilpena we offer a range of tours including Nature & Geology based tours through the gorges, sunset tours, walking tours, shuttle and transfer services, cultural tours and Welcome to Country.

As a Tour Guide you are central to ensuring the very highest levels of service and safety while leading our tours.

Please note: to be a cultural tour guide at Discovery Resorts - Wilpena you must be Adnyamathanha with knowledge and understanding of culture and local sites, and a passion for sharing this culture with guests.

Our tours are at the heart of what we do, and we are seeking passionate and knowledgeable guides to create exceptional experiences for our guests.

  • Conducting shuttles for visitors and tour groups
  • Conducting private transfers between Discovery Resort -Wilpena and the local area, including Hawker, Rawnsley and Wilpena Airstrip
  • Cleaning and maintaining the tour vehicles to the highest standard
  • Assisting in the Visitor Centre, engaging with visitors and guests to promote and book tours as well as assisting with general enquiries and campground check-ins
  • Answer guest enquiries, provide recommendations, and assist with special requests
  • Guiding tours and providing the highest level of friendly and professional service to your group, while ensuring safety standards and regulations are upheld for the duration of tour
  • Manage time effectively to ensure tours stay on schedule

About you

  • Excellent communication skills and presentation
  • Previous tour guiding experience is preferred but not essential
  • Passion for outdoors, nature and wildlife, geology, and indigenous culture and tourism
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse audiences
  • Commitment to providing a high level of guest experience
  • Strong time management
  • Australian C - Class Drivers licence required – MR licence preferred
  • Drivers Accreditation required – large vehicle preferred
  • First Aid, Working with Children and RSA (SA) all essential
