Over the years, Victims of Crime NT have worked hard at fostering a safe, dynamic, and enthusiastic work environment where every member of our team feels valued and respected. We acknowledge diversity, embrace differences, and encourage lifelong learning to cultivate a culture of acceptance and belonging. Our organisation is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of both our clients and team members. We are currently implementing a comprehensive change framework (Sanctuary Model) which is purposefully designed to build a trauma informed safe community. By adopting this framework, we are committed to providing an inclusive, secure and supportive environment for everyone associated with our organisation.
At Victims of Crime NT, we are dedicated to implementing a trauma-informed approach in all aspects of our work. We recognise the universality of adversity and the impact of trauma on individuals affected by crime and strive to create an environment that promotes safety, empowerment, recovery, growth and change.
As a member of our team, you will receive training and support to develop and deepen understanding of trauma-informed practice. This includes recognising the signs of trauma, understanding how trauma can manifest in behaviour, and adopting practices that prioritise the physical and emotional safety of ourselves and our clients. By embracing a trauma-informed approach, we aim to foster resilience and healing in those we serve whilst supporting the social and emotional well-being of our team.
Joining our team means becoming part of a compassionate and devoted group of people committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals impacted by crime and trauma. By working with us, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in your community by helping others and contributing to positive change.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide end to end assistance to clients accessing the Clean-up and Resecure, Vehicle Resecure, Security Improvement and Business Resecure Programs.
- Conduct Home Security Assessments.
- Enter all client statistics into the case management database promptly and utilise the dashboard daily to follow up on any outstanding work/client action to ensure cases are completed or closed within specified timeframes.
- Respond to incoming referrals daily.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential client records in accordance with confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Participating in regular team meetings, activities, and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge on the impacts of trauma and how to manage it.
- Engaging in self-care practices and seeking support from colleagues when needed to manage the emotional demands of our work.
- Participate, contribute and demonstrate Sanctuary behaviours and attitudes within our workplace.
- Practice the 8 Sanctuary commitments with purpose and intention.
- Apply your knowledge of trauma theory to all interactions with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
You will be provided extensive training on Sanctuary and trauma informed practice.
