The Atlas Solution Engineer serves as the crucial link between Melbourne-based design teams and those modifying the Atlas System to meet specific customer needs. This role involves the Engineer in meticulously analyzing user requirements and gathering essential data from the design teams to identify the most fitting solution. The engineer works closely with Functional and Technical Business Architects, Technical Software Development Managers, and Project Managers stationed in both France and Australia. By ensuring seamless communication across hemispheres, the engineer adeptly balances customer requirements with technical constraints.

Job Responsibilities (Outline):

  • Ensure Comprehensive Requirement Coverage: Guarantee that all requirements are thoroughly addressed, leaving no gaps between the various teams.
  • Mentorship: Provide team members with in-depth knowledge of Atlas functionality and commercial software used in the project.
  • Advocate for Solutions: Promote the adoption of practical, yet effective solutions that are compatible with the existing Atlas System.

Job Responsibilities (Detail):

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of the customer requirements and the technical offer presented during the bid phase.
  • Act as the technical coordinator between the French and Australian teams.
  • Engage in workshops with the design teams in both France and Australia- participates in cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing projects.
  • Provides support to the project management function from initiation through delivery in alignment with the client’s expectations and business needs.
  • Monitor and document significant deviations from the technical offer that could lead to unplanned expenses, affecting quality, cost, deadlines, and risks.
  • Develops and maintains reporting procedures.
  • Assist in defining the test strategy and allocating tests between France and Australia.
  • Support the identification and mitigation of risks and issues, aiding Technical Project Managers (TPMs) throughout MBC and OP Phases. This includes interaction with Client (DTP) SMEs and leads - Communicates project scope, goals and responsibilities to project team; establishes clear stakeholder expectations, and requirements of varying degrees of complexity.
  • Prepares and distribute reports related to project activities, general project management, and financial issues.

Role Requirements

Essential (mandatory)

  • In-depth technical & functional knowledge of Atlas System
  • Proficiency in the general specifications of Fare Collection products and systems
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to the Melbourne team, considering the existing Atlas Solution.
  • Strong problem analysis skills
  • Capability to balance ticketing design solutions, taking into account costs, scalability, security, and performance requirements.
  • Proficient in both English & French languages.
  • Autonomous, proactive, and well-organised
  • Skilled in enabling proposals.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

Educational background:

  • Technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent
