We are looking for an Asset Supervisor who will work closely with the VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisor, and department leads to oversee the technical and creative delivery of assets. You will have a strong understanding of all aspects of the asset pipeline and will be responsible for guiding your team of artists, ensuring that work is assigned according to their strengths while providing regular, constructive feedback. You will also be involved in identifying and addressing potential issues that may impact the timely delivery of assets, all while working within the constraints of the pipeline and collaborating with other departments to improve workflows and resolve challenges as they arise.
About the role:Direct, inspire and mentor Modelling, Rigging and Surfacing artists.Ability to inspire and mentor their team, and appropriately assigning work to suit artists’ strengths, whilst also being able to give constructive and regular feedback.Ability to flag issues that may impact on the successful delivery of assets within the production schedule.Developing and working within the constraints of the pipeline, and providing feedback about where workflows could be improved.Maintaining strong communication and the ability to work to a verbal or visual brief, flagging in advance any issue.
About you:Previous Asset Supervisor experience in VFX or animated features.Well rounded experience in modeling & surfacing.Substantial experience and understanding of Maya, Mari and Katana in a production-based environment.Excellent technical knowledge of geometry, topology and UV layout techniques as well as development of textures and shaders.Excellent communication & leadership skills.Have a proven track record of creating immersive and beautiful environments and characters.A solid knowledge of modelling and surfacing workflows and ability to work interactively with all downstream departments to resolve issues quickly.
