Who is DEVELOP?

DEVELOP (ASX: DVP) is an emerging mine owner and mining services business with a mission to utilise the power of people to produce clean metals and help decarbonise the world.

The first of these centres on the exploration and production of future facing metals. As part of this, the Company's energy has focused on its Woodlawn Copper Zinc mine and Sulphur Springs Zinc-Copper mine whilst reviewing the newly acquired Pioneer Dome Lithium project.

The second plank of DEVELOP's strategy centres on the provision of underground mining services. As part of this, DEVELOP has an agreement with Bellevue Gold (ASX: BGL) to provide underground mining services at its Bellevue Gold Project in WA.

The Opportunity: Diesel Fitter

DEVELOP are currently seeking experienced Diesel Fitters to join our growing team at Woodlawn.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Diesel Fitters primary role involves maintaining underground mobile and associated ancillary equipment.

Develop's Woodlawn Copper-Zinc mine is located in the world-class Lachlan Fold belt in NSW, 250km south-west of Sydney.

Woodlawn is an advanced stage mine with the first two years of underground production already developed and a near new processing plant and related infrastructure in place. Additional investment in the asset over the last two years as yielded a new, underground exclusive mine plan, backed by reserves for the next ten years.

Your main responsibilities as Diesel Fitter will include:

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and contractors
  • High standard of maintenance execution, all work completed in a safe and timely manner
  • Work within the Mobile Maintenance Team to ensure all activities (breakdowns, follow-up work, PMs, planned work etc) are performed in a safe, timely, professional and effective manner
  • Provide technical advice and support to fellow Maintenance Team members
  • Attend daily pre-start meetings to ensure effective communication and handover between crews with regard to maintenance plans and issues
  • Liaise closely and maintain effective communication with Maintenance Supervisor and other key Stakeholders
  • Ensure correct history is collated and effectively recorded
  • Carry out, provide input to the development and follow all SOP's/JHA?s/FLRA's ensuring risks are identified and mitigated, and safety standards are met. Undertake team-based risk assessments as required
  • Provide key involvement in addressing safety issues and undertaking safety investigations, ensuring root causes are identified, and corrective actions are effectively implemented
  • Ensure workmanship through meeting standards, tolerances and testing of equipment prior to handover
  • Identify correct parts and equipment for all planned and unplanned jobs as necessary
  • Ensure all tasks and procedures complies with environmental standards
  • Organise all permits as required (e.g. isolations, confined space, hot work and dig permits)
  • Continuously review scheduled jobs to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Highlight equipment defects and issues effectively utilising the maintenance management process
  • Rigorous cost management - avoid rework and the unnecessary use of parts and services
  • Provide input into the annual performance reviews for the Mechanical Apprentices where applicable

The Requirements of the role:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Current "C" Class Drivers Licence
  • Minimum 2 years practical experience as a mechanical tradesperson in heavy mining application
  • Excellent fault finding skill and ability to carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance
  • Computer literacy - Microsoft Office, Pronto or similar CMMS
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices
  • First Aid certificate (desirable)
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
