We are located in the Heart of the Great Barrier Reef adjacent to some of Australia's greatest natural wonders including the iconic Heart Reef, Whitehaven Beach and 73 other islands that make up the Whitsunday Islands group.
Hamilton Island is a fully integrated resort island. We have 1,400+ employees servicing 5 separate hotels, a range of holiday home rentals, 20+ different food & beverage options, 65+ experiences and activities, a 300+ berth marina, an airport servicing all major domestic carriers, and all supporting infrastructure & utilities.
The RoleOur people are at the heart of our business. We are looking for an exceptional General Manager People to join our leadership team as a strategic partner to lead and develop Hamilton Island’s people capital. Reporting to the CEO and with a first-class team in support, you will oversee human resources management, planning & compliance, learning & development, recruitment and systems & reporting.
Ideally based in Sydney and with regular travel to Hamilton Island, your key areas of responsibility will include:
The development and implementation of a business aligned People strategy to support Hamilton Island’s overall business objectives.The design and oversight of talent management programs, looking end-to-end for the employee.Developing and executing comprehensive workforce management plans, using HR data & analytics to inform decision making.Proactively managing the employee relations environment in a complex setting.Driving initiatives that promote employee engagement and well-being.
About YouYou will have extensive experience leading a people function in a fast moving, customer facing organisation.
You will also:Be a great leader and trusted advisor to senior executives – able to build deep trusted relationships at all levels.Have a proven ability to align people initiatives with business imperatives, and anticipate future workforce needs.Combine a strategic mindset with a propensity for action, in what is a fast-paced operational environment.Be a great problem solver who can think quickly and creatively.Hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
