FINANCE & PAYROLL MANAGER:SkinKandy is one of Australia's fastest growing retailers. With 78 stores across ANZ we are the largest full-body piercing and jewellery retailer in Australia.The Finance & Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing payroll operations (~50%) and financial accounting/reporting processes (~50%).
This position primarily involves oversight of the entire (internal and external) payroll function, internal stakeholder management (Operations, HR, Finance, IT) and Management/Financial accounting responsibilities in a Finance Manager. Additionally, the role will be required to drive process improvements at the direction of the Financial Controller, financial audit management, and involvement in various finance projects.
The role will be suitable for an experienced Finance Manager, from a public practice background, that has had solid experience in managing or overseeing end-to-end payroll.
Key Responsibilities1. Payroll Management (50%)Serve as the primary contact for outsourced payroll providers.Supervise the offshore payroll analyst and ensure accuracy in payroll processing.~600 employees across Australia and New ZealandGRIA / CPSA / SSWA & Contracts.Review wage costing calculations and report variances to the C-Suite.Ownership of payroll-related ledgers, including reconciliation and reporting.Review bonus calculations and ensure accurate and timely distribution.Manage payroll tax, workcover costs, and related calculations.Set up outsourced payroll suppliers in new internal markets during expansion.Drive improvements in payroll data management processes.Provide ad-hoc award interpretation assistance.Manage WGEA reporting requirements and other reporting requirements from time to time.2. Financial Accounting (50%)Perform week-end and month-end reconciliations.Manage annual financial audit and ensure compliance with IFRS/AASB standards.Assist the Financial Controller in supervising the accounting and AP teams.Drive process improvements for financial operations and reporting.Required Skills and Qualifications
Non-Negotiable Attributed:CA/CPA qualified.A passion for payroll related finance (economics, processing, process improvement, legal)Demonstrated experience with IFRS/AASB applications, including managing audited financials.Demonstrated experience of month-end close accounting and year end reconciliations, ideally gained from within a public practice environment.Demonstrated experience managing payroll processes, including:STP reporting, superannuation lodgments, payroll tax, workcover, award interpretation and wage calculations.Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.A strong desire to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the company's global expansion.
Desirable SkillsExperience with NetSuite ERP system.Familiarity with GRIA awards.Background in public practice accounting.
