About the Role?

Based in our Brisbane Airport office, the Account Manager is responsible for the strategic growth, account management and retention of a portfolio of major mining, infrastructure, corporate, and corporate travel accounts for the Hertz brand. The role focuses on the development of long-term partnerships with a key focus on growth through maximising the value of relationships via incremental sales, increased share, customer satisfaction and profitable revenue within a geographical area. There is also a focus on driving profitable new business growth. This is a role that requires management of a complex multi-layered product/service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administrative tasks to support customer and internal contract rate approval and reporting requirements
  • Operational and logistical support to manage specialist customer rental requirements
  • Strategic account management and growth of existing relationships via face to face customer review meetings, as well as providing the best customer service in the industry with a view to retaining the business for the long term
  • Proactively pursue the acquisition of profitable new business through sales leads, researching new opportunities for lead generation, telephone prospecting as well as face to face customer meetings with decision-makers
  • Prepare rate strategies and present contract proposals, using negotiation skills to strategically obtain the best outcome for the business whilst balancing customer needs
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate travel management companies to sustain existing accounts and maximise their potential as a referral source of new business
  • Maintain and seek to improve the company´s competitive position and profitability
  • Analyse and collate data on customer patterns and competitor activity to uncover growth opportunities and predict future trends
  • Maintain positive and proactive communication with the assigned Sales Support team, Operations and departments at all levels within the business
  • Lead tender opportunities within the sales territory by coordinating a professional written response
  • Challenge the status quo, identify process improvement, and product enhancements for customers, as well as identify risks and opportunities that you see
  • Adhere to deadlines and complete required reports to communicate weekly activity, and utilise and maintain an accurate customer database (Salesforce)
  • Travel intra and interstate to visit customers and attend after hours events/trade shows where required. Whilst this is a part of the role, this commitment is not excessive, and we encourage a strong work life balance.

About You?

To be successful in this position, our newest team member will ideally have the following:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Field Sales function, account management, working with a travel management company, experience in the mining/infrastructure industry and/or managing corporate customers in an operational/logistics environment
  • Proven track record in exceeding KPIs and relationship building skills
  • Experience in working in a complex business environment, working with a detailed multi-layered product/service. If you enjoy challenge and managing complexity, this is the role for you!
  • Ability to operate in a fast-pace and changing business environment.
  • Strong and professional communication skills (verbal & written) and attention to detail
  • Possess strategic thinking skills and ability to challenge the status quo
  • Relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Valid drivers license
