Description:

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide daily care, supervision and transport for clients Provision of hygiene routines including showering and dressing;
  • Take direction from the person that is being supported, the family, and the Client Coordinator whilst providing regular feedback on progress;
  • Develop and support individual care plans, including activities, medication, hygiene and meal schedules;
  • Maintain respect, a positive attitude and a strong and professional relationship with the person being supported/cared and their family;
  • Changing of bed linen and general housekeeping Performing household management tasks, including cleaning, washing, ironing, meal preparation, and cooking fresh wholesome meals.
  • Assist clients with medication. Assistance to ambulate, eat meals and with toileting;
  • Assist clients in the community with errands, shopping, appointments, and other social outings;
  • Manual handling tasks such as bed positioning, personal care, hoist operation, commode assistance, and manual/power wheelchair support;
  • Ensuring a varied program of social activities and access to social services;
  • Proper documentation of detailed progress notes, and incident management reports.

Academics and Trade Qualification

  • Qualification (minimum certificate 3 in Disability, Individual Support or Aged Care
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Screening Card
  • Current Police check/certificate
  • Working with Children Card
  • Manual Handling certificate

Work Experiences and Skills:

  • Experience working with Participant's who have complex disabilities and behaviours;
  • Flexibility and willingness to work at night-time;
  • Ability and willingness to drive and use pool vehicle or own vehicle;
  • Excellent communication and listening skills;
  • High level of initiative & great problem-solving skills;
  • At least 2 years work experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00 per year

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Afternoon shift
  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Night shift
  • Rotating roster

Supplementary Pay:

  • Overtime pay

Licence/Certification:

  • First Aid and CPR Certification (Required)
  • Working with Children Check (Preferred)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (Required)

Work Authorisation:

  • Australia (Required)

Work Location: In person
