About the team

About the Division

The Business Grants Hub Division (BGH) is responsible for design and management of grant programs on behalf of 10 other Commonwealth departments, managing over $7b in government’s investment in Australian businesses.

We provide an end-to-end grant delivery service using a national network. In addition to grant program management, the division encompasses enabling functions that provide a comprehensive support model for grant delivery.

About the Team

The Northern Territory (NT) State Office incorporates staff from multiple divisions in the Department as well as staff from other agencies. It has a positive culture which values professionalism, integrity and collaboration.

This role will also work with the Business Grants Hub Grants Policy team providing secretariat support to the flagship Cooperative Research Centres Program which delivers improvements in the competitiveness, productivity and sustainable of Australian industries through CRC Grants and CRC Projects.

The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity which supports the administration functions in the NT State Office and provides administrative support to the CRC Advisory Committee.

you will engage with internal and external stakeholders and undertake a variety of functions including management of onsite property matters, coordination of meetings and planning days and assisting Darwin-based staff, as the front-of-house presence, you will play a key role in shaping our NT State Office culture, through supporting in-office events and activities and engaging with diverse stakeholders, including senior executives, as part of the BGH Grants Policy team, you will provide administration and finance support to help ensure the effective functioning of our expert CRC Advisory Committee.

What you will do

As the Administrative Support Officer, you will :

coordinate and manage various administrative tasks to ensure effective communication and logistical flow of our Darwin office, keep staff informed, escalating issues as necessary and applying judgement to actively find solutions, develop and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders providing advice and support, provide administrative and financial support for committee meetings including develop agendas, collate and circulate papers, prepare and circulate minutes, and process fees and allowances, provide logistical support for committee meetings including scheduling, venue booking and catering, maintain online information, undertake administrative, stock control and record management activities.

Eligibility

To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.

Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

Notes

This role is located in Darwin, NT and we intend to fill it in an ongoing capacity. However, the role may be offered as non-ongoing for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension.

While the Department supports flexible work arrangements, due to operational requirements this role is required to be full-time and on-site.

A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
