About the role
As a Merchandise Planner, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales performance and ensuring optimal stock levels across multiple stores and online channels. You will be responsible for forecasting, inventory management, and strategic planning to maximize profitability while aligning with the brand’s seasonal and long-term goals.
Duties
- Develop and execute merchandise planning strategies to optimize stock allocation and sales performance.
- Investigate sales trends, customer demand, and market insights to create accurate forecasts.
- Collaborate with the buying and design teams to ensure product selections align with business objectives.
- Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment or markdown strategies to maintain sell-through targets.
- Conduct regular financial analysis, including margin management and stock turnover rates.
- Work closely with retail and e-commerce teams to ensure product availability and optimal assortment.
- Prepare and present reports on sales performance, inventory health, and future projections.
- Identify strategic growth opportunities - grow and develop new areas of the business
- Previous experience in merchandise planning within the fashion industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
- Proficiency in merchandise planning software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
- A keen eye for fashion trends and understanding of customer buying behaviour.
