With a strong focus on business growth, international travel, and leadership, this role offers a dynamic and rewarding challenge for an experienced export sales professional. For your efforts, you'll be paid between $130k - $135k, plus superannuation. Additionally, you'll have access to extra benefits like:
- Leadership: Mentor a direct report to support sales and distribution efforts
- Global exposure: Manage export sales across 26 international markets, focusing on Africa
- Growth: Balance new business development (50%) with key account management (50%)
- International: Travel overseas 4-5 times per year to meet clients and attend trade shows (no domestic travel required)
- Industry: Work with a trusted brand in coatings and industrial products, supplying key sectors such as construction, mining, and forestry.
- Autonomy: Operate with high independence while collaborating with internal teams.
About the role
Main tasks: Your primary focus will be to drive international sales growth, particularly within Africa, while managing export operations and maintaining strong distributor relationships. This role requires a proactive sales leader who can identify new market opportunities and enhance existing partnerships.
Other tasks:
- Develop and execute export sales strategies to meet revenue and profit targets
- Identify and establish relationships with key distributors and clients
- Conduct market research to stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activities
- Oversee export logistics, including documentation, shipping, and customs compliance
- Ensure international trade regulations and tariff requirements are met
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the sales and distribution coordinator
- Track and report on sales performance, analyse trends, and identify opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams, including supply chain, marketing, finance, and operations.

What you must have to apply for this role:
- Proven track record in export sales or international business development
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations & logistics
- Strong leadership & team management skills
- Ability to travel internationally 4-5 times per year.
You will be highly regarded if you also have:
- Knowledge of coatings, industrial products, or related sectors
- Proficiency in using CRM & ERP systems
- Multilingual capabilities, particularly relevant to African markets.
