About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our dedicated team. The supervisor will motivate staff and oversee the daily operations of the crushing and screening plant, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.
This role includes, but is not limited to;
- Supervise and coordinate daily crushing and screening operations to meet production targets;
- Conduct pre-start meetings, safety toolbox talks, and risk assessments;
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of plant operators, fitters, and other site personnel;
- Manage workforce scheduling and allocate tasks to ensure efficient operations;
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to improve team skills and competency;
- Identify and report plant and equipment issues to minimise downtime;
- Provide regular reports to the Superintendent/Site Manager on operational performance, inclusive of downtime and safety compliance;
- Monitor plant performance, ensuring optimal feed rates, equipment efficiency, and product quality;
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues to minimize downtime;
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions as required;
- Work closely with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee equipment servicing and repairs;
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs; and
- Contribute to operational planning and budgeting discussions.
The ideal candidate:
Will have at least 3 years’ experience in a mining environment and previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role. Sound knowledge of fixed and mobile crushing and screening equipment. They will hold a Trade qualification in relevant trade and will be able to troubleshoot and resolve plant and equipment issues effectively. They will also have a strong understanding of WHS and environmental compliance requirements and experience in using Microsoft Office applications. They will have the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing operational demands all whilst motivating the team to deliver the operation safely.
The ideal candidate will also hold a White Card, C class driver's license, Confined Space Entry, and Gast test atmospheres ticket, and have undertaken DEMIRS Schedule 26 Supervisors Certificate. Preferred but not essential, a national competency front-end loader certification.
