Position Information

Killarney Heights High School is a comprehensive co-educational school with a population of 1020 students, 43% EALD, located 20 minutes from the Sydney CBD in a bushland setting near the northern beaches of Sydney. At Killarney Heights High School, we empower students with the knowledge and skills required to thrive academically, vocationally and socially. Through a rounded approach to education which caters to the whole child - the intellectual, the physical and the emotional - we support each student to achieve their full potential, inspiring them to become ethical, creative and compassionate leaders within and beyond their community.

Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach PHP - PD/Health/PE, CFS - Community and Family Studies and SLR - Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation/Physical Activity and Sport.
  2. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver rigorous teaching and learning programs incorporating evidence-based teaching strategies including formative assessment and explicit teaching.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to build strong workingrelationships with staff, students, parents and the wider school community.
  4. Capacity to implement whole school Positive Behaviour for Engaged Learning framework toconsistently to manage student wellbeing and behaviour.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
