Position Information

Rose Bay Secondary College, Years 7-12, is a partially selective, coeducational high school in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, with a student population of approximately 1230 students in 2024. The school has a focus on high academic achievement and quality teaching in a rich learning environment. The College has an enviable reputation for the breadth of its subject offerings and excellence in the HSC. Inclusion, advocacy and opportunity are key values of the College. The school has an academic selective stream in Years 7-10 and a support unit, the Inclusive Education Faculty (IEF), for students with special educational needs. The College works closely with our nine partner primary schools and enjoys active and supportive parent involvement including the coordination of significant programs in music (MEP), sports, chess and debating. An extensive co-curricular program caters for diverse student interests including sport, dance, drama, debating, Duke of Edinburgh, music, film, Tournament of the Minds and student leadership.
The College is seeking an experienced and energetic applicant to oversee educational initiatives and opportunities in alignment with the K-12 Career Learning Framework.


Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach Careers or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Careers qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
  • Proven ability to provide guidance to students and parents regarding procedures for post-school pathways, including tertiary course selection, early entry, scholarship applications and special entry schemes.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with a capacity to maintain positive relationships, foster teamwork and engage all levels of the school, wider community and key stakeholders including employers, industry, TAFE and universities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to initiate, develop and implement innovative programs to engage, educate and support students to explore career paths and equip them with skills to effectively work toward their goals.

Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
