About the Role:
We are currently seeking a number of Disability Support Workers to join our team! We are looking for Support Workers who genuinely want to make a difference in the lives of our participants.
As a Disability Support Worker for I4L you will be working within our SIL homes or Direct Support team to provide social support, personal care, household assistance, manual handling, use of assistive technologies as well as transport support.
About You:
We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, and self-motivated. You would be sincerely passionate about social inclusion and supporting people to live the life that they choose. Ideally, you are the kind of person who:
- Is willing to support participants in all aspects of their support needs
- Is willing to travel to support participants across Newcastle, Maitland, Upper Hunter, Lake Macquarie, and surrounds
- Is able to build rapport with participants and their families and is an excellent communicator
- Available to work shift work
- Be able to remain calm in challenging situations and be able to actively problem solve on a day-to-day basis
- Understands the importance of maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality, privacy, and duty of care to participant circumstances and organisational matters, at all times.
Essential Requirements:
- NSW Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
- National Criminal History Check (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- First Aid Certificate
- Australian Driver’s License and comprehensively insured car
Desirable (not mandatory):
- Previous experience working with participants exhibiting concern behaviours
- Previous experience implementing allied health care plans and behaviour support plans
- Previous experience in personal care.
