Twilight Aged Care is a stand-alone not-for-profit service with a rich history spanning over 100 years.
Employing over 300 dedicated staff, they provide high quality residential aged care for more than 160 men and women in 5 locations across Northern Sydney – Gordon, Mosman, Hunters Hill, Dural and Gladesville.
The Role
The Maintenance Officer ensures the implementation, co-ordination, monitoring and reporting on the efficient and effective preventative and corrective maintenance for our buildings and equipment. This is a hands on role with the support of Maintenance Manager.
Key Accountabilities
• Undertakes handyman duties as required to ensure a safe environment for staff and residents
• Ensures preventative maintenance and corrective action is completed as allocated and scheduled, including requirements for essential services
• Record completion of work in the organisations information system for maintenance documentation.
• Maintenance of resident rooms on a regular basis, and undertake minor repairs as necessary
• Ensure safety testing, checking and tagging of electrical items as required
• Follows up and acts on allocated Hazard/Improvement Forms related to maintenance services
• Ensures the continuous improvement of Twilight environment and processes
• Conduct performance in accordance to regulatory requirements
• Contributes to refurbishment and equipment replacement
• Provide an environment of knowledge sharing and teamwork with the other Maintenance Officer across other facilities
• Participate in ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement
• Contribute to WHS committee and undertake inspections as required
• Other duties as directed from time to time
Shifts available
- Working at our Facility in Mosman
- Monday to Friday (approximately 8am to 4pm)
- Flexible start and finish times may potentially be available
About you
Demonstrating experience in a similar role, you will treat residents in a respectful and courteous manner. Further, you will have:
- An up to date Police Check/NDISWC
- A valid NSW Drivers License and own car
- Previous experience working in community or aged care would be highly regarded
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills
- Computer literate
- Practical mindset with good problem solving/troubleshooting
- Independent and self motivated
- Desirable - License or experience in:
- Plumbing
- Painting
- Carpentry
- Rubbish & Recycling
- Roofing/Working at heights certification
- NSW Construction White Card
