About the role
The Team Leader - Rostering is a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our 24/7 scheduling team. Reporting to the General Manager – Operations, this hands-on position involves leading a small, fast-paced team responsible for coordinating rosters that meet participant needs and preferences. You’ll also provide backup scheduling support, build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, and drive process improvements to ensure operational excellence.
This is a Full-Time position based in the CSBS office in Sunshine Coast or Brisbane, with flexibility for office and remote working. Hours of work are rostered on a 6-week rotation and include weekends..
Each Day You Will:- Manage and lead the scheduling team to deliver 7-day roster coverage.
- Oversee rostering practices to ensure compliance with NDIS participant needs and SCHADS Award requirements.
- Work closely with service managers to match the right support workers with participants.
- Provide backup support for rostering and scheduling adjustments.
- Support the professional development of your team by providing coaching and training opportunities.
- Investigate and resolve scheduling issues while improving operational processes.
- Lead and coordinate the Scheduling Team, ensuring 7-day roster coverage.
- Develop strong relationships with service managers to meet rostering requirements.
- Oversee and optimise roster practices using data-driven insights.
- Provide backup support for scheduling tasks, including rescheduling for last-minute changes.
- Manage and support team performance, including training and professional development.
- Investigate and resolve scheduling complaints and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with SCHADS Award and legislative requirements.
- Optimisation of roster practices and overseeing roster system utilisation including facilitating data-driven decision making and continuous improvement.
- Forecasting of future supply and demand requirements by reviewing and identifying rationale and drivers behind past anomalies.
You are a highly organised individual with proven leadership skills and a passion for supporting people with disabilities. You thrive in fast-paced environments, love solving problems, and understand the unique challenges of rostering for the NDIS.
You Will Need to Demonstrate:- Proven leadership experience in scheduling or rostering within the NDIS, community, or aged care sectors.
- Advanced understanding of the SCHADS Award and rostering systems.
- Strong time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and rostering software systems.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in leadership scheduling, rostering, or a similar role.
- Tertiary qualifications in human resources, work force planning, business administration or similar.
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and a valid Queensland Driver Licence.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation training "Quality, Safety, and You."
- Knowledge of NDIS compliance and the SCHADS Award.
Desirable:
- Experience using ‘Employment Hero’ as a roster management system.
