Description:

Well Life Services is seeking a Registered Play Therapist or Counsellor with an interest in working with young people through child centred play therapy. You are someone who is flexible, innovative, motivated and passionate about delivering exceptional services and supports to children and people living with disabilities. We require someone with energy, enthusiasm and initiative who will thrive in an agile and changing environment. The purpose of the role is to provide Child Centred Play therapy and other counselling.

Position responsibilities

• Conducting individual play therapy sessions with children

• Conducting initial and ongoing parent/ carer consultations

• Completing written reports as requested by stakeholders

• Engaging in team meetings and operational supervision on a regular basis

• Engaging with an external supervisor for independent advice

• Administrative tasks including ongoing calendar management and case-noting

• Providing in- home support including travel where required

• Engaging with participants, their stakeholders and third-party organisations in a professional manner

• Complying with all relevant legislation and codes of conduct

• Enjoy networking with other agencies

These are the skills we feel will provide a good foundation for the role:

• Accredited qualifications in counselling, social work, or play therapy.

• Completion of additional qualifications, or willingness to undertake, in child-centred Play Therapy training.

• Experience working in the disability, trauma or child safety sectors is highly desirable.

• Current membership of ACA, APS, PACFA, AASW, and/or APTA, PTI, or similar.

• 1-2 years of counselling or play therapy experience would be highly desirable.

• A commitment to Well Life Services vision and values.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• First Aid and CPR Certification.
