A unique opportunity is available to become a Deputy Principal at Ripley Valley State Secondary College leading our whole school pedagogical approaches.
This opportunity will allow the successful applicant to shape the culture, pedagogical approaches and outcomes of our students. Working closely with the Principal and leadership team, the successful candidate will continue to build upon the strong reputation of our college to benefit teachers, students and the wider community.
This position is offered on a temporary full-time basis, for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.

About Ripley Valley State Secondary College
Ripley Valley State Secondary College opened in 2020 and caters for approx. 1300 students across years 7 -12 in 2025. Over the next 5 years our college is expected to exceed 2000 student enrolments. The College has established a strong reputation for high expectations, innovation, inclusion and connection to community. The successful candidate must have proven leadership and communication skills and be committed to building a positive, welcoming and supportive learning culture at our college.
About the Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
About You
The ideal applicant should have a strong working knowledge of evidence based pedagogical approaches and ideally have experience in managing a year level of student behaviour. The successful candidate must provide leadership and direction for the whole school as it continues to grow exponentially over the coming years.
The successful applicant will be required to lead the following strategic responsibilities within the college:
- Whole school effective Pedagogical Practices
- An expert teaching team
- Whole School Approach to Collaborative Capability Development
- Staff Induction Processes
