About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Administration Officer to join Mater Health Service in our Teleservices Department. This is a permanent part-time role, offering 24 hours per week on a 24/7 roster. The roster includes day, afternoon, overnight, weekend, and public holiday shifts.
The purpose of this position is to deliver efficient, effective, and professional services to customers, patients, and staff at Mater Health Services through the Teleservices Department and Main Reception, in alignment with the Mater Philosophy.
Salary range: $31.24 - $36.44 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this position you will be responsible for the following:
- Manage a high volume of calls and inquiries for Mater Health Services, resolving or redirecting them to the appropriate department, staff member, or extension in a polite and professional manner
- Serve as Reception for Mater Hospital Brisbane
- Respond to all emergency codes as required, following hospital procedures
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Mater Services, locations, personnel, and information necessary for handling inquiries typical of a frontline position
- Monitor alarm systems, including fire, medical gases, and security, as needed
- Perform administrative duties as required
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of rosters and term allocations, and utilise them as necessary
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including the development and maintenance of relevant procedures, as well as education and training activities
- Contribute to and maintain an efficient, productive, and positive workplace, communicating and cooperating with colleagues to promote teamwork within the department
- Attend and participate in regular individual and team meetings to review current work practices and engage in appropriate developmental courses
About you
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Proven recent experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospital or health setting
- Availability to work shifts, including overnights, weekends, and public holidays, as per the roster
- Proficient typing skills and the ability to use multiple computer systems
- A commitment to providing excellent service and maintaining accuracy.
- Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and confidentiality
- A commitment to ongoing professional development
