About the role
TAFE SA is seeking an experienced Software Asset Management Specialist to join the ICT Services team . This role is responsible for planning and delivering specialist software asset management programs, ensuring compliance with policies and optimising software investments across TAFE SA.

As a key contributor, you will coordinate software assessments, monitor compliance, conduct audits, and provide expert advice on software asset management strategies. Your work will help maintain an efficient, reliable, and high-quality software environment across the organisation.

Essential to this role:

  • Significant knowledge of software asset management policies, frameworks, procedures, and best practices.
  • Extensive experience in coordinating and evaluating software asset management programs, including purchasing, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing expert advice and client-focused services.
  • High-level communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly, negotiate effectively, and influence decision-making.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team, exercising initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgement.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • In-depth understanding of software licensing models, terms, and agreements, including legal risks associated with software ownership and copyright.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and community.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, IT Asset Management, or a related field.
  • ITIL certification.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).

  • This role’s location is currently site specific, which may change due to the business needs of the role and/or TAFE SA.
  • Some out of hours work may be required
  • Some intra/interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
