Kalano Community Association is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person for the following vacancy in the Alcohol & Other Drugs Services Team.
Brief Summary of role:
The Alcohol and Other Drugs Support Worker is responsible for culturally appropriate ongoing support and safety of clients at the Venndale Rehabilitation Centre.
As part of their role the Support Worker is responsible for effective and professional communication with vulnerable clients and also with the clients Case Manager.
Salary and Conditions:
Employment Type: Casual
Wage range: $25.79 - $33.91 per hour (Plus Casual loading & other applicable allowances)
Hours of work: Monday to Sunday – Shifts available 24 hours
Location: Venndale Rehabilitation Centre (located 30km from Katherine)
Selection Criteria
• Experience working with Indigenous people
• Competent knowledge of computer software and systems (i.e. Word, Excel, etc)
• Understanding of the barriers and challenges that Indigenous people face in the NT
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, staff and stakeholders
• Sound knowledge of work, health and safety principles and practices
• Current NT Drivers Licence, valid Ochre Card and willingness to undertake a National Police check.
