Position Summary
Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation (TCAC) is a community controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from the Alice Springs Town Camps, urban Alice Springs, and Central Australia.
The Central Australian Youth Link-Up Service (CAYLUS) is a division of Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation (TCAC) - a community controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from Alice Springs Town Camps, Urban Alice Springs, and Central Australia.
CAYLUS started as a petrol sniffing prevention project in November 2002, in response to widespread issues in the region at that time. While CAYLUS remains focussed on preventing sniffing, we also work to reduce the impact of other substance misuse by reducing their supply, harm, and demand across Central Australia through the delivery of youth services, training, remote rehabilitation outreach work, and various other targeted initiatives.
The Program Support Officer will welcome clients and stakeholders to our office and create a warm, friendly, organised, and tidy office environment.
The Program Support Officer will provide efficient administration and program support for CAYLUS Managers and staff, raising purchase orders, organising meetings, catering, agendas, and meeting minutes, and following up on action items.
The Program Support Officer will liaise directly with the CAYLUS Management team through regular meetings, and act as an initial point of contact for external agencies and stakeholders.
The Program Support Officer position is a flexible role which can be offered on a part time or full-time basis, with opportunities for professional development, training, or study, based on the interests of the suitable applicant.
Responsibilities
• Support the administration of the CAYLUS team efficiently to ensure timely responses and ensure systems and processes are functioning appropriately.
• Manage a range of procurement functions including travel arrangements, purchasing, liaising with suppliers, organising payment and processing credit card transactions.
• Provide program support to the CAYLUS Management Team by managing the flow of communication, organising travel, training, and calendar management.
• Ensure the CAYLUS office is neat and tidy and provides a warm and welcoming space for staff and visitors alike.
• Liaise with stakeholders on behalf of the CAYLUS Management Team.
• Assist with achieving quality management objectives across the organisation.
• Assist with achieving safeguarding objectives across the organisation.
• Assist with achieving compliance objectives across the organisation.
• Other reasonable duties as required.
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
Required
• This is an Aboriginal Identified position and only applicants who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander will be interviewed for this position.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proven organisational skills, ability to set priorities and work under pressure, and to perform with minimal supervision.
• Experience in the provision of administrative support using relevant communication and computer systems and software packages including word, excel and email.
• Demonstrated experience in organising meetings, agendas and taking minutes.
• Demonstrated commitment to using information technology to facilitate organisational efficiency.
• Current NT Drivers Licence, Ochre Card, satisfactory Police Check, and proof of full (3) vaccination against COVID-19.
Desired
• Manual Driver’s License or willingness to obtain with support.
• An interest in furthering a career in youth work, social work, community development, or a related field
