Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence-based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.

The NPY Women’s Council’s Youth Service works with children and young people (aged 10-25) and their families living in the NPY region, and is integral to the work we do. The Youth Service model is based on four key components: Case Management; Leadership and Education; Youth Diversion and Recreation; and Advocacy.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The NPY Women’s Council (NPYWC) Youth Program works with children and young people aged 10-25 and their families. Our service model consists of the following: case management, leadership and education, youth diversion and recreation as well as advocacy and collaboration

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working within the Youth Services, the Senior Project Officer Evaluation and Evidence Informed Practice will have a unique opportunity to create evidence-driven impact for youth services across remote central Australia and NPY Women’s Council broadly.

The Senior Project Officer Evaluation and Evidence Informed Practice will be responsible for working cross-culturally to design and implement a regional impact evaluation of youth recreation and diversion programs. You will work alongside Anangu and non-Anangu colleagues to design and conduct surveys, collect, analyse and translate data into learnings, develop Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) plans, and support Team Leaders, Program Managers, Directorate and Boards to use these findings to make evidence informed decisions in order to improve outcomes for clients and efficiency of programs.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications in statistics, public policy, social science, business, economics or related field OR professional accredited certification in Policy Monitoring & Evaluation. Exposure to remote indigenous communities will be highly regarded. You will also have at least 2 year of demonstrated experience leading project monitoring and evaluation projects with excellent knowledge and application of M&E methodologies (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method and impact)

You will be passionate about this type of work, with a willingness and capacity to learn the skill sets you don’t yet know. In this role, you will need to have high energy and be committed to working alongside Anangu. You will have values that closely align with our guiding principles, be resilient, driven and strong in relationship building.

You will work within a supportive, trauma informed team in an organisation which provides a comprehensive orientation program. You will receive best practice supervision and professional development that includes vicarious trauma, case management and four-wheel driving training. We also provide critical incident debriefing and a range of counselling services to support you.

In addition to this, we offer above award salary, salary packaging benefits, generous leave entitlements and a retention bonus. We also provide NPY Women’s Council accommodation and use of a company vehicle whilst remote travelling.
