Applications are invited to fill one non-executive Director vacancy on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Board. This is a part-time position for a period of up to 5 years.
The successful candidate must understand the role of the ABC, its Charter and place in Australia’s diverse community. Candidates should demonstrate high-level leadership and vision, financial literacy, professional and personal integrity, and commitment to high standards of governance. Substantial experience in at least one of the following is essential: the media industry, broadcasting and digital media, digital technologies, business or financial management, creative arts, educational content creation, corporate governance or cultural industry/policy.
An independent Nomination Panel will assess candidates and provide a shortlist to the Minister for Communications. The Minister will make a recommendation to the Governor-General, who has responsibility for appointing non-executive Directors to the ABC Board.
Due regard will be paid to gender, other forms of diversity and geographic balance in the selection process.
