The Team:

Acute Medical Unit LGH:

  • The Acute Medical Unit is a 25-bed unit with 9 negative pressure rooms. Providing care for higher acuity medical patients.
  • The AMU team pride themselves on providing a highly supportive environment for all staff.
  • Prior leadership and education experience is desired.

The Role:

  • The role of the Clinical Nurse Educator is to facilitate and support the development of the nursing workforce by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating education programs in the clinical setting/ward/unit.

The occupant of this role is responsible for:

  • Effective planning, implementation and evaluation of a range of educational programs and activities for the nursing workforce.
  • Consulting, liaising with and assisting the Nurse Unit Manager with implementation of education related activities associated with performance development plan(s).
  • Program delivery across a range of practice settings and learner groups as required.
  • Actively participating in his/her own continuing professional development.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker, working 60 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
