About the Role
Our Tech Hub team is expanding and we’re looking for a PMO Manager to join our vast community of solvers. The Tech Hub team brings our purpose to life by enabling our company’s businesses to achieve their technology-driven goals. The work undertaken in Tech Hub covers a range of areas from leading and supporting the company through to the build or adoption of new technology, to protecting against risk, and delivering valuable data insights that transform our technology capabilities.
The PMO capability is committed to maintaining high standards of project governance, risk management, and performance tracking, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in project execution. Through collaborative efforts and expert guidance, the PMO team drives organisational success and innovation.
As a PMO Manager you will manage the operations of the PMO, ensuring it provides effective support and guidance to project managers, project teams and aligns with organisational goals. You will develop and maintain project management standards, framework, processes, and tools. You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders. You will monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks and report on the portfolio status to leadership.
You’ll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:
- Providing proficiency project management methodologies experience (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).
- Providing leadership and organisational skills and experience with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, DevOps).
- Providing strong knowledge and application of risk management and quality assurance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Understanding good financial acumen.
- Providing technical expertise who uses your specialised skills to provide advice, influence others, and help by directly contributing to solutions.
- Solving complex work problems by leveraging overarching guardrails, experience, and strong judgment.
- Delivering result being a first level operational Team Leader with full responsibility for other team members (up to 10 people) to deliver results.
- Forming annual prioritisation of work and ability to consider direction.
- Involving in large projects and/or leading medium scale projects.
In our Tech Hub team, your impact will be seen by:
- Ensuring PMO alignment with strategic objectives and business value.
- Establishing and maintaining project governance frameworks to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures
- Prioritising the demand and investments in the portfolio
- Developing and managing project budgets, forecasts, timelines and resource allocations.
- Governing the progression of demand requests through framework.
- Providing project governance oversight to support project and program managers (i.e. Change request reviews).
- Utilising project trends, insights and lessons learned to identify areas for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Monitoring portfolio health and performance, and provides status reports to leadership, escalating issues and issues.
- Implementing PMO standards, framework, processes and tools.
- Providing governance for projects in accordance with project management standards.
- Managing resource capacity planning and portfolio roadmap.
