ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a motivated, passionate and experienced commercial candidate to be a product expert for our Surgical product portfolio. As a key member of the Medical and Surgical Business Unit, you will support the sales team and customers by providing high level technical knowledge in the field.
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you will work closely with Business Development Specialists and the Marketing team to ensure our Surgical portfolio is professionally represented and supported in the Australasian market. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand their scope into building the portfolio with new suppliers and a key focus on business growth and strategic initiatives to build the market.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the sales function of the business unit by providing expert knowledge to stakeholders on product lines for the assigned portfolio.
- Work closely with the Business Unit Manager to develop product tactical strategies and build market share.
- Provide technical support both pre and post-sales.
- Conduct customer and staff training, product demonstrations and support evaluations.
- Collaborate with suppliers on product strategies, product launch, and implementation and play a key role in achieving both supplier and company forecasts and budgets.
- Collaborate with the Marketing teams to develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products from the competition.
- Assess new product market entry opportunities, including financial analysis.
- Ensure the successful launch and ongoing support of products.
- Assess product competitive advantage over competitors and support the sales process.
- Manage the supplier catalogue, including regulatory affairs.
- Manage product recalls in conjunction with the QA/RA Director.
- Travel regularly nationally to meet with suppliers/customers, and understand new and existing markets.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Qualifications in Healthcare/Nursing/Medical, with an in-depth understanding of the Medical Device Industry, particularly Surgical.
- Minimum of 5 years sales/commercial/business development experience in Medical Devices.
- Relevant industry experience with at least 5 years of work experience in Medical Devices
- Proven track record of interpretation and demonstration of technical information.
- Proven track record in professional presentation delivery/customer training.
- Experience in Key Opinion Leader engagement.
- Communication & presentation skills.
