About the role:

Aerometrex is seeking a meticulous and technically skilled LiDAR Processing Officer to join our Maroochydore team. In this role, you will work within a dynamic office environment to process and validate LiDAR datasets, contributing to the generation of high-quality geospatial products. You’ll perform GNSS processing, LiDAR point cloud classification, and quality assurance checks while ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the data.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • LiDAR Data Processing: Manage LiDAR datasets from point cloud extraction through to final product delivery.
  • Quality Assurance & GNSS Accuracy: Ensure classification quality and GNSS accuracy using QA tools.
  • Strip Alignment & QA Checks: Conduct strip alignment and perform classification QA checks.
  • Product Generation & Review: Create and review derived products, including DEMs, DSMs, and classified point clouds.
  • Timeline Management & Reporting: Manage project timelines and deliver comprehensive reports within deadlines.
  • Data Integrity & Backup: Ensure the integrity of datasets and maintain secure backups.

About you / Skills and experience

We are looking for candidates who bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, spatial sciences, environmental science, or related field

• Ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in data processing is preferable

• Strong communication skills and proficiency with office software (Excel, Word, etc.)

• Familiarity with LiDAR, GIS, GPS, Python, Global Mapper, and Terrascan is highly desirable

• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
