ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Regional Operations Manager to lead our Nursery, Juvenile and Grow-Out teams. This role is responsible for optimizing stock growth and performance while ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met. With a strong focus on continuous improvement and cost management, the successful candidate will play a key role in our business’s ongoing success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead and coordinate bay teams to achieve production goals.
• Manage stocking efficiency and oversee all production processes.
• Ensure high-quality stock management in line with customer expectations.
• Monitor and improve survival, growth, and conditioning rates.
• Oversee asset maintenance and ensure efficient lease utilization.
• Develop budgets, manage financial performance, and meet expenditure targets.
• Drive safety, health, and environmental compliance.
• Foster a positive team culture, provide training, and ensure workforce development.
WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY
• Ensure strict adherence to all Work Health & Safety and environmental policies.
• Lead initiatives to promote a zero-harm environment by proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Conduct on-site toolbox meetings to reinforce safety practices and expectations.
• Ensure PPE availability, serviceability, and proper usage.
• Foster a culture of safety excellence and open communication about safety concerns.
• Report and address all incidents and hazards in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Educational Background: Degree in Marine Science, Aquaculture, Biology, or a related field.
• Leadership Experience: Proven track record in managing teams and optimizing operations. Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills to assess and improve performance metrics.
• Knowledge of financial management, including budgeting and cost control.
• Advanced computer and project management skills.
• A proactive, innovative, and results-driven approach.
• Coxswain ticket or willingness to obtain certification.
• Forklift (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Australian Driver’s License.
• Safety Focus: Commitment to maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture.
LOCATION AND REMUNERATION
This position is available at our Cowell site, which is in between Port Lincoln and Whyalla.
The Eyre Peninsula is the perfect location for outdoor activities including the best fishing, surfing and camping in proximity to some of the most stunning beaches in the country.
REMUNERATION
Pay: $125,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
