The Transport Safety Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the business meets legislative compliance while driving a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement in transport operations. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving transport safety systems, supporting leaders with proactive hazard identification, conducting risk assessments, and leading incident investigations.

What you will be doing…
- Supporting leaders to promote a culture of safety awareness and incident prevention.
- Providing practical guidance on compliance with CoR, HVNL, and WHS requirements.
- Assisting in maintaining accreditation with the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS).
- Monitoring and facilitating transport safety training requirements.
- Keeping up to date with legislative changes and updating safety systems accordingly.
- Investigating high-risk hazards, major incidents, and ‘near miss’ events, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Conducting risk assessments, internal audits, and workplace inspections.
- Monitoring, reporting, and maintaining accurate records of compliance activities, inspections, and incidents.
- Working closely with operations staff, drivers, and external service providers to promote transport safety.
- Engaging with contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with transport safety requirements.
- Assisting with regulatory interactions when required.
Do you have…
- Experience in transport, compliance, or a safety-related role
- Strong knowledge of CoR, HVNL, WHS, and relevant legislation
- Experience in safety and compliance reporting
- The ability to conduct risk assessments and incident investigations
- Experience working with transport safety telematics systems (highly desirable)
- Strong communication, organisational, and time-management skills
